SME's In the UK
In the UK, SMEs account for 99% of the total number of businesses currently trading.
SMEs account for three-fifths of all the UK's employment and around half of all turnover in the UK private sector.
Total employment in SMEs is some 16.7 million (61% of the total), whilst turnover is estimated at £2.4 trillion (53%).
